There is no doubt that in these very peculiar circumstances we need to be flexible and able to react speedily and efficiently in business as in the rest of our lives. Nothing is certain.
We are experiencing sudden and sometimes devastating changes every day and in many more ways than usual. However, whatever it looks like, there will be a future and we must be prepared to embrace it for the sakes of those we serve and those who follow after us.
In this regard, I applaud the endeavours of the recently formed Wells Coronavirus Network, (WCN), which is setting up a series of support mechanisms for people whose businesses or jobs have somewhat hit the buffers. We, and many other local professionals who work with businesses on a daily basis, are going to be supporting them.
If you are in any doubt about your future in business, or your present difficulties, please do look out for their free services. We are so lucky to have a wealth of talent in our corner of the world, in the form of people who have had some high powered careers in Britain and across the world. These are the people who are now giving their time and energy to creating a local support network for those whose lives have been severely hit by the Covid 19 pandemic. Nothing but reality will be talked here, and nothing but solid, professional advice offered.
Whatever is currently happening, don’t lose heart! However, do seek advice and help, (especially if it’s free!) and let’s face the future together, stronger.
I unashamedly take the words that Shakespeare put in the mouth of Henry V:
“… when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood!”
Well, if this isn’t a “blast of war”, I don’t know what is!
Take care, stay well, and good luck.
